Come Forth
John 11:41- 43 "Father, I thank You that You have heard me. And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent me.." now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice," Lazarus, come forth!"
Most of us can recall what was written about Lazarus. However sometimes we can overlook certain things....like the obvious. When Lazarus was dead and laid to rest, It represents all of us physically and spiritually at some point. When Jesus called him forth, and he walked out of that place of death- that was a symbol of our salvation that we are no longer dead but brought back to life by Jesus himself.
As mourners fell silent , I'm sure every eye was fixed upon the opening of the grave. Can you imagine the joy and the childlike giggling to see someone you love come back to life and walk toward you!!!! The tears of joy and the immense gratitude in your heart would be overwhelming.
As he walked out, he was still wrapped in linen and cloth from his burial. He could not see where he was going without removing the garment of death that was wrapped around him. He could smell it and I am sure wanted free of it. Jesus told them to remove his grave clothes and let him go which symbolizes are deliverance from what was once dead.
We are delivered and free to walk and experience the beauty of life even in difficult circumstances. Drop the burial clothes and begin living today. The past can't be changed no matter how badly our heart desires. But we are alive today and we have the gift of a brand new day. Celebrate be joyful in all circumstances. Do not walk around as though you are living when you still have bandages and linens wrapped around your body constricting you and covered in the stench of your past. Jesus has called each of us to be alive, so let's do it. Live fully and love deeply. Leave the stench of death and your past behind you. Come forth my friend and step into the sunlight.
Much love and as always hugs!!
